• People should consent to collection and sharing
  of information.
• Where people lack capacity, aim for maximum
  participation safeguarding their interests.
• Professionals should be aware of the impact of
  age, gender, race, living arrangements, personal
  relationships, lifestyle choices and disability
  on older people and their needs - but not make
  assumptions about this impact be prepared to
  act appropriately.

• Agencies should acknowledge the role and support
  of carers and family.

  services
• Access to services via assessment that is co-
  ordinated, straightforward, with minimal
  duplication.
• Effective information sharing , respecting
  confidentiality
• Where more than one agency is involved, they
  should co-ordinate service delivery
