Saludos y Bienvenida (Ronaldo)

• Buenos días a todos! A nombre de la Biblioteca
  de Patentes, Marcas Registradas y Propiedad
  Intelectual del RUM y en el mío propio, les doy
  la más cordial bienvenida a este evento que hemos
  denominado Coloquio sobre Propiedad Intelectual
  en el RUM 2005. Tenemos para ustedes un programa
  interesante y balanceado. Espero les guste!
  Gracias a los ponentes por tomar de su valioso
  tiempo para acompañarnos y compartir parte de su
  conocimiento con nosotros en el día de hoy.

• Gracias también a los medios informativos y de
  difusión pública por estar aquí y darnos apoyo.
• Su cobertura es nuestro mejor aliado para
  mantener a la comunidad alerta sobre estos
  asuntos. Tengan la certeza que los canales de
  comunicación se mantendrán fluídos para
  actualizar el acontencer inventivo, tecnológico,
  comercial y de propiedad intelectual de
• Puerto Rico.

En esta mañana, voy a aprovechar la oportunidad
para lanzar una idea compartida por varios
inventores que se me han acercado. La misma es
la de formar y desarrollar una organización o
asociación de inventores de Puerto Rico. Con los
datos del registro de hoy, ciertamente se puede
desarrollar una base de datos que dé pie a la
idea. Con su anuencia, ayuda y apoyo de
instituciones comprometidas de pujanza y avanzada
se puede realizar. Al menos pueden contar con mi
ayuda, vale?

Bienvenidos los amigos y amigas de la Escuela
Graduada de Bibliotecología y Ciencias de la
Información de la Universidad de Puerto Rico
(EGBCI) por estar aquí vía teleconferencia.
Igualmente se extiende la bienvenida a todas las
unidades del sistema UPR y sistemas
universitarios hermanos.

Ahora quisiera dar un breve saludo para nuestros
amigos de habla inglesa que hoy nos honran con su
participación. I would like to say a
few welcoming words to all my english-speaking
friends. First of all, to my colleagues and
friends at the USPTO, particularly to the PTDLP
people. Mande, please extend my regards to your
marvelous staff members, all of them fine jewels.
However, a very special mention for two splendid
gems. To the sapphire named Mr. Anthony Wilkinson
and to your finest and brightest diamond, Mrs.
Mary Gómez. Excellent job you guys, keep on the
nice and smooth ride for us all, the PTDL
Representatives.

  PTO. Congratulations for your dedication and
  wonderful service to society. I salute you with
  pride and dignity. You are our embassadors over
  there so represent us the best way you can by

  technological breakthrough and innovation.

In the article you said The protection of
intellectual property is vital to our economic
growth and global competitiveness and it has
major consequences in our ongoing effort to
promote security and stability around the world.
Theft of intellectual property is not tolerated
and will not be tolerated. With your words over
there and with our efforts over here, I think we
alltogether are tuned in the same frequency.

To my dear and nice people at the School
of Library and Information Science (IU-SLIS) at
Indiana University-Bloomington. Long time no see,
but still, you guys, close to my heart. I can
proudly say that Im the end product of the
finest library science professors ever Dr. David
Kaser, Dean Herb White, Dean Bernie Fry (R.I.P.),
just to mention a few and of so many other icons
in modern American librarianship.

Dear IU-SLIS faculty members keep on the good
work, keep on the tradition, OK? and dearest
library science students, I know is no piece of
cake but believe me, at the end, its all worth
it. Dont you believe me? then just take a good
look to this effort of titanic proportions.
Fingers crossed and just hoping it wont end with
the same outcome of the ill-fated luxury liner
bearing the same name but dont you quiver, Im
positive that with the finest people here,
throughout Puerto Rico and abroad we will harbor
safely.
