Title: TOF DCS status report

1
TOF DCS status report
  • Alice Week
  • 19-23 June 2006
  • Bologna

Ombretta Pinazza On behalf of the ALICE TOF group
2
HV control system
  • Ready to be packed and delivered
  • All FW standard but Archiving (iMon, vMon, v0set)
  • Some numbers
  • 1 PC (tof_hv 71)
  • 2 SY1527 (tof_hv_01, tof_hv_02)
  • 30 HV Boards 15 A1534P and 15 A1534N
  • 180 CAENChannels (90 positive and 90 negative)

3
LV control system
  • Controls for LV, FrontEnd and ReadOut Electronics
are installed on the detector in a custom crate
    called
  • SY2390 or TOF BOX
  • The system is not yet included in the FW, and
every OPC item had to be programmed by us
  • The JCOP utility to pack new Devices in the FW is
powerful, but has required a big effort (useless
if JCOP is doing the same)
  • Anyway, now the LV system (a prototype) is ready
    and fully operated via PVSS
  • A running LV CS could be packaged and delivered
in two weeks but a new Framework for CAEN is
expected that will require further work

4
FEE Control System
  • A subset of VME operations has been programmed in
DIM (FED compliant) but the work is still in
    progress
  • A first version delivered for lab testing at mid
    July

5
FSM for TOF
The ACC example scheme (9 June 2006 version) is
different from the TOF prototype and requires a
complete rewriting of the TOF FSM. States and
actions related to BEAM_TUNING might not
interest TOF (this is under investigation)
6
FSM Question
  • Subdetector partitioning and infrastructure
partitioning do we have to choose or do you need
    both?

7
