• Daniel 2

His Dream and Decree

• Had dreams, his spirit was so troubled he
  couldnt sleep.
• Commanded his wise men, magicians, astrologers,
  sorcerers, Chaldeans to tell him the dream and
  the interpretation.
• They said, Tell us the dream. We will
  interpret.
• He said, Its a trick. You tell me the dream
  and the interpretation.

No One could Interpret

• They said, it would take a god to tell you the
  dream.
• Could he not remember it?
• Was it a test of the wise men?
• He decreed they would all be put to death if they
  couldnt tell the dream and interpretation.

Daniel asked for time.

• Went to his house, told his three friends.
• They sought Gods mercy in the matter.
• The secret was revealed to Daniel in a night
  vision. He blessed God for the answer. Vs. 19
• Look at his prayer to God in verses 20-23
• Then he went to Arioch to plead for lives of the
  wise men.

Daniel before the king

• Are you able to interpret dreams?
• No, But God I serve reveals secrets.
• He has made known to king what will be in the
  latter days.
• You saw a great image whose splendor was
  excellent. It stood before you. Its form was
  awesome.

The Image

• Head was of fine gold.
• Chest and arms of silver.
• Belly and thighs were of bronze.
• Its legs of iron. Its feet partly of iron and
  partly clay.
• You saw a stone cut out without hands struck the
  image and broke it into pieces.
• Stone became a great mountain, filled the earth.

INTERPRETATION

• You, O King, are the head of gold.
• After you another kingdom inferior to yours.
• Then another of bronze that will rule over the
  earth.
• The 4th kingdom shall be as strong as iron, but
  feet of clay shows weakness.

In the Days of These kings.

• God will set up a kingdom which shall never be
  destroyed.
• The kingdom shall not be left to other people.
• It shall break in pieces and consume all these
  kingdoms and shall stand forever.
• Stone that broke them was Gods doing.

Kingdoms

• After Babylon came Medo-Persian empire of silver.
• After Persia came the Greek empire under
  Alexander the Great that rule the world.
• Then came the Roman Empire, strong as iron, but
  with great weaknesses.
• In time of Roman Empire God set up His kingdom
  that would never end.

King honored Daniel

• King fell before Daniel and commanded they burn
  incense to him.
• Said, Truly your God is the God of gods, the
  Lord of kings and a revealer of secrets.
• King promoted Daniel, gave authority and great
  gifts. Chief over wise men.
• He asked for friends to be promoted also.
