• The Ferl web site contains a wealth of
  information for lecturers, trainers, managers,
  ILT Champions and support staff in fact anyone
  involved in post compulsory education. It aims to
  offer advice, guidance, and examples on the use
  of ILT in all aspects of further education, sixth
  forms and training provision. The site also
  provides resources for use in teaching and
  learning, with guidance on how these could be,
  and have been, implemented.

WWW.RSC-WM.AC.UK Rsc West Midlands
The Regional Support Centre for the West
Midlands, funded by the Joint Information Systems
Committee, exists to support Colleges in
connectivity to JANET and provide assistance in
the implementation of college ILT strategies,
through training, use of learning resources and
encouragement of best practice.
The National Learning Network (NLN) is a national
initiative for England. Begun in 1999 with an
initial Government investment of 74 million, the
NLN aims to help transform the Further Education
(FE) learning environment. It is a complete
package of measures designed to increase the
uptake of Information and Learning Technology
(ILT) across FE. The Government has recently
announced 84 million of continuing investment in
the NLN over a further two years in order to
consolidate and build upon the improvement in ILT
provision and use within the FE sector.

Distributed National Electronic Resource
(DNER)  The Distributed National Electronic
Resource (DNER) is a managed environment for
accessing quality assured information resources
on the Internet which are available from many
sources. These resources include scholarly
journals, monographs, textbooks, abstracts,
manuscripts, maps, music scores, still images,
geospatial images and other kinds of vector and
numeric data, as well as moving picture and sound
collections. /

umonline The vision for Curriculum Online is to
give teachers easy online access to a wide range
of digital learning materials, which they can use
to support their teaching across the curriculum.

• The Key Skills Support Programme web site is a
  gateway to all Key Skills Support Programme

  the web site you can find information on

  systems and resources. Also available are a wide
  range of reviewed resources, and access to free
  shared resources which have been developed by

• The NVS is offered to the academic community by
  the Manchester Visualization Centre. From a
  number of digital images the NVS can create a
  video sequence. Analogue video tape, digital
  images and analogue video from SuperJANET, Real
  Time images can be converted to produce Digital
  images, MPEG,AVI QuickTime files, analogue
  video tapes, CD, Video CE and CD-I.
