The Toolkit in Action
The Government Publications Home Page uses the
Toolkit Databases in several different ways.
The back side of the GPL home page looks like
this, with the PHP language used to integrate the
database content into the interface (web pages).
When viewing the source in a web browser, the
page appears to be standard html.
Lines 4-19 are pulling entries from the OLIP
database to ensure consistency of repeated link
labels and to simplify link maintenance.
The MNCAT Guide to searching for Government
Publications, denoted by the i image on line
21, comes out of the FAQ database.
The Legislative Research Guide on line 24 is
coming from the QuickStudy Tool.
