The Rough-Face Girl

• Once, when a young girl was feeding off the
  fire, one of the burning branches popped in her
  face. In seconds, her face and arms were filled
  with scars. Then everyone called her the
  Rough-Face girl.

• At the end of the village, there was one huge
  wigwam with animals, trees, and flowers painted
  on the sides. Inside lived the Invisible Being
  and his sister. Everybody wanted to marry the
  Invisible Being, but the only one who could was
  the one who saw him.

• One day, when the Rough-Face girls mean, older
  sisters went to their father and asked," Can we
  have new buckskin dresses and new moccasins and
  maybe even new beads? Ill give you what I
  have. answered the father. So they got it, and
  when they got to the biggest wigwam, they where
  asked two questions, and they were what was his
  bow made of? And what was the runner of his sled
  made of? They got both wrong, but when they went
  in, they saw a scary shadow and left.

• A couple of days after, the Rough-Face girl went
  to her father and asked," Can I have a new dress
  and new moccasins? Ill give you what I have
  left? he answered. She got it, and when she got
  to the Invisible Beings wigwam, the sister asked
  the same two questions.

• She got both questions right, so that proved she
  saw the Invisible Being, and she got to marry
  him. The sister told her to bathe in a lake, and
  she did, all her scars went away, so they got
  married.

About the Author

• Jennifer is 9 years old and in 4th grade. Her
  teacher is Mrs. Leclaire. Jenny was born on
  August 29,1998. She is about 5ft tall. She has 3
  sisters, Angela in 5th grade, Chrissy in 1st
  grade, Emily in kindergarten, and 1 brother that
  is three years old. My best friend is Emily. My
  favorite cousin is Nathan.
