  • Air travel is the most common form of
    transportation to Dubai
  • Once there, use a taxi or bus
  • All taxi companies charge the same rate so use
    the first available
  • Renting a car is also an option and US licenses
    are accepted

  • Obtaining a Visa depends greatly upon the
    nationality of the visitor
  • A US citizen can get a tourist visa or a visit
    visa upon entering the country
  • They are good for 30 days
  • If an individual stays beyond the visa limit a
    daily fee is added

Time to Travel
  • October to March is tourist season
  • January would be my preferred travel time
  • They hold a month-long Shopping Festival with
    fireworks, childrens entertainment, and
    concerts.
  • The Tropic of Cancer runs through UAE, so winter
    weather in Dubai is warm and sunny.

  • One place that I want to visit while during my
    dream vacation is the Palm Islands.
  • The Palm Islands are the three largest artificial
    islands in the world.

Burj Dubai
  • Another place that I want to visit while in Dubai
    is The Burj Dubai. 
  • It is currently the worlds tallest structure and
    it is still growing.
  • It is expected to be an estimated height of over
    800 meters, when finished.

Jumeriah Mosque
  • I also would like to visit the Jumeirah Mosque.
  • It is considered to be one of the more attractive
    mosques in the region and one of the few that
    allows non-Muslims for tours.

The Dubai Museum
  • Another place that I want to visit is the Dubai
    Museum.
  • The visit starts at the al-Fahidi fort and
    continues to the extension built underneath the
    fort.

Al Ahmadiya School
  • The last place that I want to visit is the Al
    Ahmadiya School.
  • It was Dubais first school and was built in
    1912.
  • It has now been nicely restored.

  • Dubai became known as a township around 1799
  • Began as a fishing settlement
  • Oil was discovered in 1966
  • In 1971 Dubai joined the UAE (United Arab
    Emirates)
