  • Research estimates that between 5 and 12 of
    South Africans are moderately to severely
    disabled.
  • 99 of all people with disabilities are excluded
    from the open labour market.
  • In South Africa, males have a 36 chance of
    becoming disabled during their lifetimes, women a
    28 chance.

  • Nearly 66 of persons with disabilities in the
    work place have no special working arrangements
    and, of those who do, the most common is
    flexitime
