Common Core application

• The Common Core is designed to help
• employers to develop workforce strategies and to
  design induction training
• individuals to identify development needs
• sector bodies to revise standards (eg NOS) and
  inform sector qualification strategies
• awarding bodies and learning providers to develop
  training programmes and qualifications

Examples

• Training Development Agency for Schools (TDA)
  has embedded the Common Core in revised
  professional standards for teachers and higher
  level teaching assistants
• NSPCC has developed child protection training for
  sports workers based on the Common Core
• Barnet Council has developed accredited Common
  Core training modules, in partnership with
  Middlesex University

Standards Qualifications

• The Common Core is being embedded in National
  Occupational Standards (NOS) across all sectors
• The Integrated Qualifications Framework (IQF) is
  being developed, ensuring that the Common Core is
  built into all relevant qualifications

Children young people

• CWDC has worked with groups of children and young
  people to explore the local impact of the Common
  Core and produce promotional material

Whats next?

• The Common Core continues to be used for
  developing IQF, NOS etc, and by individuals and
  employers
• DCSF and CWDC will continue to work together to
  increase awareness of the Common Core and
  consider how it is used
