• Some of the Ancient city-states were Athens,
  Sparta, Corinth, Delphi, and Olympia.

Sparta

• Sparta was know for most militaristic of all city
  states
• Sparta depended on slaves
• Most of the Spartan army was made of mostly slaves

Athens

• Athens was known for being the most famous of all
  city states
• Athens created the first democracy
• Home to the Festival
• Athens was home to historians many and other
  great thinkers. ?

Delphi

• Delphi was known for the Oracle and Temple of
  Apollo

Corinth

• Corinth was known for its cultural achievements
• It was between Athens and Sparta and so saw the
  many wars.
• Corinthian troops fought in the Persian Wars and
  the Peloponnesian Wars.

Olympia

• Olympia was home to the ancient Olympic Games
• And to the Statue of Zeus,
• one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World.
