Jordanian Pharmacovigilance Centre (JPC)
  • JPC established at the beginning of 2001 which
    equipped with hardware and software for handling
    and analyzing of ADRs Data via an online
    network Wisperlite programme

Achievements
  • WHO membership at the beginning of 2003
  • Outline our responsibilities into four (4) major
    stages
  • 1.Advertising and Promoting the concept of
    Pharmacovigilance to medical staff and the public
    via
  • Continuous education (lectures, workshops)
  • Establishing a library containing essential books
    and references relevant to ADRs
  • Preparing and distributing ADR reports and
    promotional posters both in Arabic and English
    language (focal persons)
  • Publishing brochures for health professionals and
    public
  • JPC published important alert letters and recalls
    and safety information on our website
    (www.Drugdirect.gov.jo)

Achievements
  • Established guidelines for ADRs monitoring which
    will be approved by MOH
  • 2. Data Collection The regional centres at the
    universities review the spontaneous reports and
    send the reports to the main office via
    Wisperlite online system
  • Our team reviewed the reports again and send them
    to UMC every 3 months through e-mail

  • Bad quality of reports
  • Funding for stage 1
  • Regional Centres need to be activated

Conclusion
  • JPC now considered as a separated department
    under the umbrella of MOH and in direct contact
    with registration department due to the newly
    re-organized structure in MOH
