• ? Before pregnancy
• Attempt AED monotherapy with lowest effective
  dose
• Folate supplementation (at least 1 mg/day orally)
• ? During pregnancy
• Monitor AED dose requirements to maximize
  seizure control
• Continue folate supplementation
• Consider prenatal diagnosis of fetal
  malformations
• Vit K (10 mg/day orally) starting at 36 weeks
• General prenatal care
