Mission Statement GIAFPW is a membership
organization of professional women committed to
furthering their professional and personal growth
by uniting together to network , share resources,
and promoting ideas that foster relationships
leading to business generation and personal
enrichment. Membership is exclusive to one
representative per industry/occupation.

    member of The International Alliance for Women
    (TIAW), an organization of 30,000 members
    representing both local professional networks and
    individual associates from around the world.

TIAWs Out-Reach/Social Responsibility TIAW's
aim is to encourage, develop, fund and implement
programs to foster economic empowerment and
advancement for women around the world. -
Microenterprise Development Project Leverages
financial and leadership resources to fund
micro-loans to assist women in developing
countries to start/operate micro-businesses. -
Women on Boards Initiative Focuses on board
candidate identification, awareness building,
board governance education and placement of
qualified women on corporate (and non-profit)
boards. - TIAW Daughters Prepares girls (ages
8 to 18) for financial independence through a
mentoring program including one-on-one sessions,
seminars, workshops, and special events.

  • GIAFPW Programs  
  • GIAFPW has a variety of programs to
    facilitate networking among its members as well
    as to help personal and career development. The
    main event is the monthly 2nd Thursday of the
    month Power Lunch offering networking and a
    feature speaker.
  • The monthly Power Lunch is held on the 2nd
    Thursday of every month. 1145 am 100 pm The
    Greenville Country Club
  • Every other month, after work networking events
    are held on the 4th Thursday of the month. There
    is also a "Networking Table" where members may
    place info on events, their company brochures or
    business cards.
  • 600 pm 745 pm The
    Phoenix Greenvilles Inn
  • (Venue Subject to Change)

  • Future Professional Development Series. A series
    of structured workshops that support the
    members professional development and provide
    more in-depth knowledge on various topics
  • Volunteer opportunities. A great way to get
    involved, meet people, network, use your work
    skills, find new skills and do something that is
    just plain rewarding! Highly recommended as a
    way for new members to begin networking.
  • Monthly Invite a member to lunch program.
    Members will be paired each month for one-on-one
    lunches
  • Annual Entrepreneurs' Fair. An opportunity to
    highlight and promote your services and products
    to other professionals.
  • Advertising on our Website. Advertise your
    products, services, or employment opportunities
    on our website at discounted member rates

Membership Composition The membership of the
Network shall be representative of women in
Greenville and surrounding communities. At no
time should the membership by deliberate
selection become overly concentrated in any one
field or be specifically associated with any one
firm, organization or profession.
To avoid this, membership is available for one
person per profession / industry in the
organization. If a potential conflict of interest
exists, the two parties may agree to certain
terms allowing overlap but no direct conflict of
interest.

  • Membership Criteria
  • All candidates should be employed/business owner
    at the time of application.
  • Membership field of profession/industry must be
    vacant. Membership is available for one person
    per profession in the organization.
  • 3. Membership is open to persons committed to
    civic or professional careers in Greenville and
    surrounding communities, who support the Mission
    of the Network.
  • 4. Membership is open to individual women who
    have achieved at least one of the criteria below
  • a baccalaureate degree plus two years managerial
    or professional experience,
  • a combination of education and/or experience
    totaling at least three years or
  • professional or volunteer community work for at
    least three years.

Organization Memberships Membership is open to
organizations or corporations approved by the
Board of Directors. Membership privileges are
limited to one woman designated to be the
representative of an organization and, with
respect to corporate sponsorships, the number of
women representatives will be determined
according to the benefit level of the
sponsorship.
