What Do We Expect the Parent to Do?
  • The Role of the Parent.
  • Support the Scout in participating with the Unit
  • Provide guidance to the Unit Leaders in
    accommodating the Scouts needs
  • Provide guidance to the Scout in interpreting the
    direction of the Unit Leaders
  • Be involved

How Do We Get the Parent Involved
  • Present the case in a positive manner
  • Expect them to volunteer
  • Be Specific on expectations
  • Create Specific jobs (other than babysitter)
  • Express the units gratitude
  • Dont assume the parent will decline ask anyway
  • Sometimes the busiest people make the best
    volunteers
