ELIGIBILITY FOR ENROLLMENT IN MCC DUAL CREDIT
COURSESWORK

• At Least a 80.0 Cumulative GPA
• Complete the 10th grade
• Meet testing requirements and Pass all sections
  of TAKS
• Complete required paperwork
• Maintain at least a C on dual credit courses

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

• You must pass all sections of TAKS to take a Dual
  Credit class
• Depending on your TAKS scores, additional testing
  may be required. To be exempt from further
  testing must score at least
• 2200 ELA and a 3 on the writing
• 2200 Math
• Not exempt? take THEA or Accuplacer at MCC
  Testing Center by July 2, 2009

MHS ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE

• Completed packets will only be accepted
• Turn in Completed packets in the counseling
  office
• Deadline to turn in applications Thursday,
  April 9th, 4 pm

• Completed Concurrent Enrollment Form with
  Parent/Guardian and Student signature
• Completed Schedule Information Sheet
• Tuition Waiver Form (optional)
• MHS will add the Transcript to the packet

2009 2010 TSTC Dual Credit Enrollment
Information

• TSTC Representative will be in the lunches on
  April 16th to distribute registration paperwork
  and select courses.
• Complete Return the following to MHS Counseling
  Office by May 8th
• MISD Technical Dual Credit Information Form
• TSTC Enrollment Forms to Counseling Office
• Complete On Line TSTC Application _at_ waco.tstc.edu

2009-2010 TSTC Dual Credit Enrollment Information

• Transcripts with TAKS scores, Medical Record,
  etc. will be printed by MHS and submitted with
  enrollment forms to TSTC.
• All forms (except testing) are DUE in the
  counselors office/ Mrs. Metzgar by May 8th, 4 pm
• Based on TAKS scores, students may have
  additional required testing (ie Accuplacer).
  Exemptions from further testing
• ELA Math TAKS 2100
• Writing TAKS - 2
• Deadline for testing and scores (if needed) due
  to Mrs. Metzgar by June 1st, 4 pm.

2009 2010 TSTC Dual Credit Information

• Transportation is NOT provided
• Tuition Fees for technical dual credit are
  covered in partnership with TSTC MISD
• Students must cover the cost of textbooks up
  front. In the past, upon successful completion
  of course work students are reimbursed _at_ 100 of
  the original cost of the text.
• Students are responsible for parking and required
  testing fees

2009 2010 TSTC Dual Credit Information

• Classes typically begin at 100 pm
• Each class meets a minimum of 4 hours each week
  and some program areas may have classes that meet
  10 hours each week (Welding)
• Example Automotive area
• AUMT 1305 6 hours per week
• AUMT 1407 8 hours per week
• 14 hours per week
