Simulating the Essence of Deception and
Counterdeception (DCD) (SEDCD)

Agenda
  • Gantt Chart
  • Tasks Performed
  • Technical Content
  • Identification
  • Global vs. Local View (God Processing)
  • Upcoming Tasks
  • Summary

Gantt Chart
4
Tasks Performed
  • Further research on Besars 11 formulas for a
    deterministic infinite dynamic game (All)
  • Further research into cost functions, and how it
    is formulated into our game(All)
  • Started redesign of cost function (All)
  • How to calculate cost function given only your
angle relative to your objective and your
    velocity
  • Global Processing, Local Game (Boki)

5
Technical Progress
  • Cost Function
  • From mentor, Ralph The player does not know all
his current states, therefore our current cost
    function cannot be used
  • Not Known
  • Position
  • Trajectory
  • Known
  • Angles between bow and objects
  • Introduction of a map giving the players
    locations of certain landmarks.

6
Technical Progress
  • Cost Function (cont)
  • From this information, the player can use a GPS
type algorithm to estimate his own position
    (Gradient Descent or Gauss Newton)
  • Once we have the ships position we can find the
trajectory at every point in time and formulate
the new cost function around that.
  • Cost function development based on Gauss Newton
method of minimizing error (set cost error)

7
Upcoming Tasks
  • Continue defining and formulation of Besars
    equations, and the Hamiltonian. (All)
  • Finish redesign of cost function (All)
  • Add position estimate method into code (similar
    to GPS algorithm) (All)

8
Summary
  • This project is about introductory Research and
Development on the subject of DCD
  • The way we approach different parts of game
theory in applying it to a real world scenario
the more we have to formulate our own theories
  • Goal is to get as far as possible in defining and
testing our theories and document them in a way
that the next group can pick up where we leave
    off.
