Task-Partitioning of Networkapplications for
homogeneous MP-SoC
Diploma Thesis

• BackgroundPortable computer systems like
  mobiles, mp3-player, etc., put tight constraints
  on hardware ressources chip area and power
  consumption are strongly limited. To meet these
  constraints, modern chips consist of complete
  IP-blocks, each of which is designed for a
  different task. Such chips are called
  System-On-Chip (SoC). Especially in the domain
  of network-protocol applications, several equal
  IP-blocks are combined, since network
  applications offer a high potential for parallel
  execution. In this case, we call the chip
  homogeneous Multiprocessor SoC (MP-SoC).

• Implementation of Networkapplications on a
  homogeneous MP-SoC. Identification of a general
  Algorithm for the task-partitioning as well as
  the implementation of this algorithm as an
  independent optimization.
