Process in the classroom
  • Preliminary/developmental activities, a way of
    working toward a product observing, imagining,
    planning, designing, sketches, studies, building
    of characters, development of a musical score,

Hand observation
  • Observe lines, scars, colour, shape, size, form
  • Imagine drawing your hand with your eyes.
  • Where would you start?
  • Observe Spread your fingers slightly.
    Gaps/space between, around hand/object known in
    drawing as negative space, object/hand is
    positive space
  • Imagine draw your hand slowly with your eyes,
    noticing details. If you were to draw your hand
    what would you leave in and out?
  • In own time trace hand in journal identify
    positive, negative spaces. Look at lines on hand
    - describe them.
  • Identify start/finish of major lines. Draw some.
    Vary thickness, continuity, tone, pressure,
    direction as appropriate.
