Animal Per Diem Charges

• New rates distributed and went into effect July
  1, 2009
• Will ramp up to a 25 OVPREA subsidized rate over
  the next several years
• Factors in an annual 3 COLA
• Rate calculations to be performed by DACT every 3
  years
• Next rate calculation to be done in 2012
• Custom rates calculated for unique
  species/special housing requirements
• Please contact DACT when preparing grant
  submissions

Price Road Facility RPV Outbreak

• RPV detected in sentinel and colony animals

• Transgenic breeders screened using serology and

AAALAC Site Visit

• March 5-6, 2009
• 4 site visitors spent 2 days evaluating the
  program, the animal facilities, and investigator
  laboratories
• Post site visit communication
• Item for Correction
• Need for emergency shutoff and personnel training
  in PRF rack washer - completed
• Suggestions for Improvement
• Inconsistencies in signage corrections being
  implemented
• Exceptions from The Guide system established
  with the IACUC and AV
• Semi-annual inspection reports and completion
  dated system revised
• Controlled drug tracking system revised
• Annual B virus training instituted
