KING TUTANKHAMEN
  • King Tutankhamen was an Egyptian Pharaoh
    approximately nine years.
  • He started ruling almost about the age of ten.
  • He died at the age of eighteen in mid-January
    1343 B.C.
  • He is a very famous Pharaoh because when his tomb
    was discovered it was practically un-touched.
  • Most of the other Pharaohs tombs were robbed.
  • When he was found in 1922 A.D. he had four
    coffins including a beautiful pure gold mask on
    the third coffin.

KING RAMSES II
  • Ramses II began his military training at a very
    young age.
  • His father Seti I allowed him to serve has a
    captain in his army at the age of ten.
  • When he was crowned Pharaoh he was already a
    great warrior and experienced leader.
  • He followed in his fathers footsteps by trying
    to restore Egyptian power in Asia.
  • He is famous for his 66 year reign and for the
    city he built with four temples in it.

Nile River
  • The Nile River extends through nine countries.
    Three of those countries are Egypt, Ethiopia,
    and Sudan. Early Egyptians relied on the Nile for
    farming, cooking, and cleaning. Later on it was a
    great way to trade goods for the Egyptians. It
    also became a great source of transportation.

Sahara Desert
  • The Sahara Desert is the largest hot desert in
    the world. It is also the second largest desert
    behind Antarctica. It extends 3,500,000 square
    miles and covers almost half of Africa. That was
    good for the Egyptians because it surrounded
    Egypt making it difficult to enter the country
    allowing them to work without worry.

EGYPTIAN SOCIAL CLASSES
  • There were 5 social classes in Ancient Egypt
    which include Pharaohs, Priests and nobles,
    Traders and artisans, Farmers and herders, and
    unskilled workers.
  • The Pharaoh was the top class. There was one
    person in this class and that person ruled most
    of Ancient Egypt during their life period.
  • Priests and nobles who worked as the government
    officials. They lived In the cities and large
    estates along the Nile River.
  • Traders and Artisans group were mostly people who
    ran businesses.
  • Farmers and Herders raised animals and grew
    crops.
  • Unskilled workers was the lowest class and the
    largest.

Inventions
  • The 365 day calendar was an Egyptian invention
    that is used greatly in all parts of the world.
  • Another invention is the first triangular shaped
    pyramids. These now are used in different parts
    of the world as Casinos and Hotels.
  • They also invented black ink which now we use in
    pens.

Religion
  • The early Egyptians believed in many
    god/goddesses. Some are Ra the god of Sun. Nut
    the god of Sky. Amun the god of creation and
    Horus the god of Pharaohs.
