Why test?
  • Tests can help teachers guide the instruction of
    children, help children learn more efficiently,
    and help parents understand their childs
    progress.

Want your child to do well on the test?
  • In the weeks before the test
  • Turn off the TV
  • Tune into practical math
  • Make sure your child does his/her homework
  • Assist your child with the meanings of new words
    or confusing words
  • Read with your child
  • Play vocabulary games with your child

In the hours before the test . . .
  • Go to bed early
  • Eat a good breakfast
  • Dress in comfy clothes
  • Focus on the test
  • Pack two No. 2 pencils

Parents Your child needs you!!!
  • Show your child (in your speech and actions) that
    you have faith in him
  • Dont put undue pressure on your child
  • Dont compare your child to your neighbors
    child/or to a sibling

  • Keep up on your childs progress throughout the
    year.
  • Tell your child to do the best he can.
  • Dont act uptight around your child.
  • SMILE HUG your child.
  • Tell your child I LOVE YOU!

Test-taking tips for students
  • Pick the answer you think is correct.
  • Find the number of the question on the answer
    sheet.
  • Fill in the circle that matches to the answer you
    chose.
  • Using your pencil, make a heavy mark that fills
    in the entire circle.

Tips.
  • If you decide to change your answer, erase your
    original mark.
  • Never mark two answers for the same question.
  • Do not fold, crease or tear the answer sheet

To achieve the BEST possible score
  • Do not spend too much time on any one question.
  • Do the easiest questions first.
  • Make smart guesses.
  • Read and follow the directions.
  • Use your time wisely.

  • RELAX and go into the test with a POSITIVE
    attitude!
  • Take some deep breaths.
  • Smile it will be over soon!!
  • Praise your child!!
