Title: First Impressions Team Training

1
First Impressions Team Training
2
What do the guests see?
3
First impressions have everything to do with
whether or not a guest will return.
4
What they initially evaluate churches on First
Visit
5
GUESTS see
  • Friendliness - This must be GENUINE.
  • Nice facilities and adequate space
  • The nursery/pre-school/children issue (safe,
    clean, organized, staffed).
  • Organization or Chaos during the service.
  • Greeters and Welcome Centers

Growing Churches Meet the Needs of Guests
8
From Church Growth Inc.
  • Send the message weve been expecting you and
    were glad youve come.

9
In the average church, 8 of first time visitors
eventually join the church they visit. But, 22
of second-time visitors become active. If you can
increase the number of first-time visitors who
come back you nearly triple the chance that they
will stay.

Get Ready for Company by Gary L. McIntosh
  • When company is coming over to the house most of
us go through a ritual called getting ready for
company. In a similar way growing churches
spend time getting ready for company guests.
  • They know that…

11
Get Ready for Company by Gary L. McIntosh
  • It takes guests to grow
  • Some guests must return
  • Guests make quick decisions

12
Get Ready for Company by Gary L. McIntosh
  • Beautify your property
  • Upgrade your child care
  • Give people directions
  • Welcome guests graciously
  • Enhance your worship service
  • …..

13
welcome
  • Give positive welcome as people enter from the
    lot
  • Extend a warm greeting thru trained greeters
  • Provide relevant information about the church
with an attractive and relevant info table
  • Establish meaningful connections between guests
    and members
  • Provide refreshments
  • Insure seating and comfort of guests during the
    service with friendly ushers
  • And last YOU ARE ALWAYS ON DUTY

14
WELCOME
  • People who hold no official position express the
atmosphere of warmth and acceptance MOST
effectively. The MOST gratifying welcome a
visitor can receive is from someone he wouldnt
expect to welcome him, in a place he didnt
expect it to happen. Welcoming isnt just
something done at the door, its something done
    all over the building.
