3
TRACEBACK areas of research
4
Main Objectives
  • To set up 2 pilot systems, one in tomato and one
    in feed/dairy food chains
  • Innovative service-oriented System Architecture
  • Innovative microdevices embedded in Lab-on-a-chip
    combined with AI
  • Integrated system to be scaled up
  • Explore third party certification (human factor)
  • Model of exploitation through innovation groups
  • Model of migration of players towards Traceback
    system

5
Expected Results
  • To develop tools and a business model to
implement a traceability system for the entire
    food chain, featuring
  • Objective connection between product flow and
    information flow
  • Compatibility with technologies currently adopted
    along the food chain
  • Maximum cost accounting to 1-2 of product costs

6
Interactions with other projects
  • TRACEBACK builds from the results obtained in
other research projects, aiming at an integrated
approach and to construction of a Traceability
Reference Model, to be tested in pilot systems

7
Interactions with stakeholders
  • Food chain reconstruction will involve key
    players
  • Pilot testing will involve players from the food
    chain recruited during the project
  • Exploitation will involve stakeholders and players

8
Dissemination activities
  • Training activities are envisaged for young
researchers, stakeholders, players of the food
    chains, and INCO partners
  • Dissemination activities will address the
scientific community, the stakeholders, and a
    larger public audience
