The key process stages of Anaerobic Digestion
  • Anaerobic digestion is a complex biochemical
    process.
  • Consisting of reactions by various
    microorganisms.
  • They convert organic compounds into methane and
    carbon dioxide.
  • It is a stabilization process, reducing odor,
    pathogens, and mass.
  • The microorganisms are Temperature PH
    sensitive.
  • Optimums -- 99 to 105 degrees _at_ PH of 6 to 7

IBR Digester Technology
The IBR Induced blanket Reactor, consists of
above ground tanks. Developed by Utah State
University
  • The tanks have a septum in the top with a
patented plug control mechanism that is able to
retain the solids and the slow growing bacteria.
  • The submerged septum in the top of the vessel
causes a sludge blanket or bed to form in the
    lower portion of the vessel.
  • This sludge bed becomes mostly living
bacteria that the influent has to travel through
thus putting the influent in contact with the
    bacteria.
  • The tanks are always full and are designed as
a flow-through system. As influent is pumped into
the bottom of the tank effluent flows out the top.
  • The system is a modular design and can easily
be adapted to small or large farms. Failed tanks
    can be isolated and fixed.
  • Controlled Temperature
  • Retention time, 3 to 5 days.
