  • In our drive to make of Mauritius a Cyber
    Island, we are not ignoring the need to promote
    Mauritian entrepreneurship. Our young people are
    endowed with talent and potential for innovative
    ideas in ICT. They need to be provided with the
    necessary support and facilities. The National
    Computer Board will set up an ICT incubator to
    promote start-ups.

  • 90 of all start-ups set up inside a business
    incubator are still active three years later.
  • The public cost of creating jobs inside
    incubators is 4,000, which is very low compared
    with other public means and programmes.
  • The 850 European business incubators assist in

  • in enterprises,that are much more viable than
    enterprises set up outside incubators.

  • An environment and programme with certain
    characteristics if offers full array of business
    assistance services tailored to the client
    companies it has an incubator manager on site
    who co-ordinates staff and outside professionals
    and organisations to deliver those services it
    graduates companies out of the programme ( though
    not always out of the incubator facility) once
    they meet the programme goals.
