How it works

• Opposites attract, likes repel

1. When the coil is powered, a magnetic field is
generated around the armature 2. The armature
continues to rotate. 3. When the armature
becomes horizontally aligned, the commutator
reverses the direction of current through the
coil, reversing the magnetic field. The process
then repeats.

How the Speed Varies

• The trigger which is a variable speed switch
• The trigger switch limits current
