    communications between users of open standards
    through the establishment of eight global regions

    states)
  • Middle East (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain)

  • Establish a regional presence for standards

  • Provide localization to the message
  • Identify new standards requirements
  • Drive adoption and deep deployment
  • Facilitate an active global community

The Regions
  • The Region Lead will
  • Be from a Sustaining, Contributing or Associated
    member company in good standing
  • Be physically located within the boundaries of
    the Region.
  • Be conversant in one local language other than
    English.
  • Be willing to devote approximately one day per
    month on standards community activities.
  • Be willing to contact potential community members
    in the Region
  • Provide communications to the Houston office on
    Region membership/development/deployment
    opportunities
  • Set up one major Region meeting per year
    including
  • Engaging a sponsor and a venue
  • Identifying and inviting potential attendees
  • Obtaining translations of invitations, agendas,
    documents
