  • 12 Undulator Quads have been measured with the
    rotating coil.
  • Quad Main Measurements are
  • Integrated gradient.
  • Harmonics.
  • Center shift vs current /- 25 near nominal
  • Trim measurements
  • Center shift vs current (/- 0.5 amps)
    harmonics.

Coil Measurement Schedule
  • 1 Undulator quad measured every 2 days. 22 quads
    left to measure 44 work days.
  • Final Magnet June 26th.
  • Possible problems
  • Alignment and Tech support
  • Computer problems. Need to remove ENET/GPIB
    routers from network.

Wire Fiducialization
  • The Wire Fiducial system has been calibrated and
    extensively tested.
  • 4 Undulator Quads have been fiducialized using
    the vibrating wire method.

Wire Fiducial Calibration
  • Wire detectors calibrated to lt 1.5 microns.
  • Quad stage movement repeatability
  • X Y lt 1.0 micron
  • Pitch lt 0.05 mrad
  • Yaw lt 0.15 mrad
  • End Pin Check
  • Wire location calculated from end pins vs located
    by wire detectors within 5 microns of each other.
  • Optical Check X 140, Y 23.9 microns
    difference to wire magnetic center. Difficult to
    access X tooling ball.

  • Q737 X 11.1, Y -1.3 µm
  • Q728 X 12.3, Y 23.1 µm

  • Center difference between -4.3 to 4.3 amps
  • Q 000740 X -2.4, Y 0.7 microns
  • Q 000738 X 5.3, Y 0.4 microns
  • Q 000737 X 2.7, Y -1.0 microns
  • Q 000728 X 1.8, Y 0.6 microns

Fiducial Schedule
  • 1 Undulator quad measured every 1.5 days. 30
    quads left to measure 45 work days 3 days for
    reference magnet check.
  • Final magnet June 30th.
  • Problems Computers!
  • Moved ENET/GPIB routers to own subnet.
  • Reloading Quindos (CMM) software.
  • Remote access crash.
