Title: Email Prayer Group

1
Email Prayer Group
2
If only you knew how many flocks of birds you
could kill with this one stone!
This could be the first domino that starts in a
long, rippling line of very positive results!
3
This is a step by step guide to entering this
revolutionary form of communication!
4
Im not just going to give you aims! Im going to
tell you what the results WILL be!
5
A closer bond with fellow worshippers!
6
Realization that this is not a church that does
nothing when it is not worshipping on Sunday!
7
Realization that the Church really is about being
one with people who DO care!
8
Realization that we are a Church with a common
Confession and a common Lord that not only
Redeems but Strengthens us as one body and one
Church!
9
Be able to put faces to names and vise versa!
10
Get to know each other!
  • Learn how to work as a team!

11
  • Get into a Search Engine!
  • Examples of Search Engines
  • MSN
  • GOOGLE
  • YAHOO

12
For the sake of guiding you through creating an
email address AND to use its functions AND to use
good tools for making the Email Prayer Group
most efficient, I will use the example YAHOO,
which I use and is in my opinion the most
user-friendly engine! But it does not matter
which engine you use. The group can be connected
from whatever engine you use as long as your
email address is given to the group. You will
have to work out the tools for that engine
though, if it is not Yahoo. But they should not
be terribly different!
13
The beginning Just type in Yahoo.com in the
address line, when your internet server opens
up!
This is what Yahoos front page looks like!
14
Then go to Mail!
15
Then this screen comes up! If you do not have an
email address it is really easy! It explains
everything for you as soon as you press Sign-up!
16
The rest of this presentation will now be
assuming you have your address and will guide you
into using the Email Prayer Group. Just sign in
as usual (Or for the first time)!
17
So now youre in to your own personal page! You
can
Compose an email
Check direct incoming email
18
Lets tackle what to do with incoming email first
from our group! The first one will be from me!
For the sake of the group the next point is very
important Saving group members addresses!
19
When receiving an email there will be the option
to save every address! This puts them all in your
address book automatically so you do not need to
type them all in!!!!!
20
Now, how to write an email!
21
Having already pressed the Compose option I
have shown in slide 7, all you do is put in the
To section whom you wish to write to. If you
click on the To you can actually select from
your address list without having to type it all
in again and again.
You should keep in the subject section the nature
of the email I.e. Email Prayer Group
22
So the address list pops up and you need to click
every To box to select the people you want to
receive your email and then click the Insert
Checked Contacts in order to have it
automatically go into the field so that you can
continue your email.
There is actually a Check All button at the
bottom of the page which would be much easier for
our purposes!
23
Composing an email could be done if you simply
click the Reply field in the email that I send
you but I recommend you concentrate on saving
everyones addresses first and then just compose
a whole new fresh email as I have outlined, until
you are more used to it
24
Whenever you are in a place where you are not
sure what is going on. Just click the Check
Mail. This should take you back to the main
emailing page again. It will usually be because
you just finished doing something. Maybe you just
sent something or you are in another section of
your Yahoo account like the address book or
something.
25
When you are ready to send your email just click
here
For common sense I recommend you use the spell
check before you send!
26
This is an example of the screen having sent an
email. To compose another email straight away
just click here!
For whatever reason you havent saved an address
yet after sending to someone, you still have the
chance by pressing here
To go back to your inbox just click here
27
Efficiency tip Create a new folder where you
will only put emails from your Email Prayer
Group!
It will come up as a whole new folder under your
inbox sent etc!
28
Whenever you receive a Prayer Email from the
group all you have to do is MOVE it to the folder
after reading it if you want to keep it for
future reference!
29
This is how it works. This is how others can
contact you and can strengthen you and can bond
with you!But the only thing that is given away
is your email address. Unless you give it to them
privately, no one has any of the other
information that you used to sign up with to get
hooked up to your email engine.Your information
is secure!
30
An important guide/rulePlease do not include
anyone in this group who is NOT a member of
Resurrection Lutheran Church!
31
If this has inspired you to be in better
communication with others close to you by email,
then this is a very good thing indeed but this
has nothing to do with OUR group. I strongly
encourage you to have other email groups with
your friends but that is the point. They are
OTHER groups!
32
What makes this the Email Prayer Group is that
that particular title should be in the subject
line of the email. It puts the reader in a
particular mind set that he/she is about to read
something that is about to strengthen the bond
between members of the one Church!
33
This does not mean you cannot send emails to
church members by another subject! When you
change the subject if the email is not under the
heading, Email Prayer Group, you can of course
talk about whatever you want. It is your email!
But when the subject is Email Prayer Group, I
want us to be responsible in keeping the content
within a bonding nature that is edifying to the
Church!
34
There shouldnt be anything within the Email
Prayer Group stream that casts doubt on whether
one should pray for it.
35
Email Prayer Group is not a place for gossip.
It is a place to sincerely write an honest
account of your feelings and what is going on in
your life or what is going on in the church
36
There will be no forwarding to the Email Prayer
Group of interesting facts that only ask for a
giggle.
37
Ultimately Prayer is in fact a wide genre and you
can actually turn anything into a prayer if you
are smart enough but the primary function of
this group is to be able to share your thoughts
with those you trust. It should not become
shallow.
38
People need to know that it is okay to show ones
vulnerable side that this is in fact how we grow
together that we are here for each other and can
pray for each other and need never be scared of
what fellow worshippers think. For we all believe
in the same forgiving God, And Lord, Jesus Christ!
39
Email Prayer Group is NOT secret! It is NOT
wrong!BUT IT IS PRIVATE TO THE MEMBERS OF
RESURRECTION LUTHERAN CHURCH!
40
Respect Email Prayer Group and it will respect
you!
41
It is completely up to you how you go about your
day and when you want to pray! This is meant to
be another form of communication. Not the only
form you have with your fellow worshippers!
Even if you pray once read it only once read
it and delete it having prayed when received it,
the result HAS BEEN achieved!
42
When I send you the first email in introducing
the group, there will be an appropriate example
of how the Email Prayer Group is to work.
Email Prayer Group is the code word, if you
will, for us to know when receiving an email,
because it is in the subject line, whether it is
a part of the Email Prayer Group.
43
No time to pray in your day? It should be easier
today! Incorporate prayer into your emailing time!
44
Maybe youve always wanted to pray more but never
have an opportune time or set time! Now, the
decision is made for you. You receive the email,
you pray and that is it! The kingdom of God is
already in action!
45
Any questions

It Will work!
