Handbook Time
  • A 40-minute segment of club when leaders guide
    clubbers in their achievements.
  • Enables leaders to work individually with
clubbers to challenge them to accept Christ as
    Savior and grow spiritually.

4
A Leaders Role In Handbook Time
5
Awana Handbook Leader
  • Before Club arrive 15 minutes early to welcome
the kids in your Handbook group and make sure
    they get checked in.
  • Wear the Awana Uniform as an encouragement to the
kids to wear theirs and to maintain an atmosphere
    of order and unity.

6
Awana Handbook Leader
  • During Handbook time sit with kids in a
    semicircle,
  • Let kids say up to two sections at a time.

7
Awana Handbook Leader
  • When they have said it correctly (with only two
helps per section,) sign and date the handbook.
  • Kids must say the entire section in one session.

8
Awana Handbook Leader
  • A Section is the smallest amount of work that a
child can do at one session.
  • During Council Time sit with your Handbook Group
to make sure they sit still and listen.

9
Awana Handbook Leader
  • During Game Time you will be assigned to a team
color (red, blue, green, or yellow) and will
assist the Game Director in making sure the kids
play in the right order and that they follow the
instructions that the Game Director gives.
  • You will also be responsible for keeping order on
    your team during Game Time.

10
Getting Started
  • In TT Club Everybody begins in the Start Zone.

Purpose is to explain what it means to trust
Christ as Savior.
11
Once a clubber completes the Start Zone, he or
she will be eligible to purchase a handbook and
uniform.
12
Whats Next?
  • The Ultimate Adventure Series, which is the name
for the 3rd-6th grade TT handbooks.
  • Clubbers are taught that the ultimate adventure
is the Christian's relationship with the Lord
    Jesus Christ.
  • After completing Start Zone, all clubbers
    progress to Book One.

13
Handbooks
  • There are four handbooks in the Ultimate
Adventure series featuring fun and attractive
    motifs
  • Book One - Outer Space
  • Book Two - Underwater
  • Book Three Archeology
  • Book Four Outdoors

14
Handbook Progression
  • All clubbers must complete Book One first, no
    matter when they begin club.
  • Most clubbers can complete one handbook each club
    year.
  • If a clubber begins club after grade three, he or
she can do multiple books in a single year. But
no clubber should ever advance beyond his or her
    grade level.

15
Whats in a Handbook?
  • Handbooks are divided into eight segments called
    Discoveries.
  • (In Book Three and Book Four they are called
    Challenges.)
  • A Discovery is made up of seven sections.

16
Whats a Section?
  • The amount of work a clubber must do at one
sitting to earn a leaders signature.
  • Sections may contain
  • Bible memory
  • Questions to be answered
  • Activities or things to do
  • Bible readings and written questions to answer
