Marty got Shiloh from Judd, who had 3 other dogs.
Martys family didnt want him to have a dog
until he was older, so he had to hide Shiloh, who
he named after the county in Virginia that they
lived in, from them for a while. Martys father
took him and the dog back to Judds house to make
Marty give it back. Marty was very sad about
this. Shiloh escaped from Judds house and came
back to Marty. Judd came and got Shiloh back
from Martys house. Judd saw Marty standing at
the road, watching him leave with the dog, and
saw how sad he was. He opened the truck door and
let the dog out and Shiloh ran back to Marty.
Judd had a wreck and Marty and his father were
led by Shiloh to where Judd had run off the road
into a creek. Judd was hurt very badly, he was
very grateful that he was found by Shiloh, Marty
and his father.

This story takes place in Shiloh County, Virginia
when Marty was 11 years old and going into the
sixth grade.

Main Character-Marty Priceton

• He is 11 years old.
• He has red hair.
• He is a nice person and has one really good
  friend, named David.
• He loves being out doors and playing with his
  dog.

My opinion of Shiloh Season

• I liked this book because I could put myself in
  the story at times. I understood how Marty felt
  because I wanted a pet and my mom wouldnt let me
  have one.
• I also liked the book because in the end Marty
  got to keep Shiloh, because Shiloh had shown that
  he was a smart and good dog.
