In SME, we are looking at waste. We have entered
the Veolia Clean Schools Challenge. As part of
the challenge, we are trying to reduce the amount
of waste in the school. Our group is focusing on
food waste.

From information gained from several bin audits,
we know that the current weight of the schools
food waste is 15.5 kilograms per day. We are
hoping to reduce this by a large amount.

You can help us by following these tips.

• Take your uneaten food home rather than throwing
  it out
• Put your food waste in the assigned food waste
  bins
• Instead of having food you dont like, pack your
  own lunch or talk to your parents about what you
  like to eat

• Dont bring more food than you need/want to eat
• Bring your food in reusable containers from home
  to reduce packaging.
• Use refillable drink bottles
