Definition of Bullying

• Physical Bullies hurt people or property.
• Verbal Bullies use humiliation and insulting
  comments.
• Relational Bullies (often girls) use isolation,
  exclusion, and rejection.
• Written or Implies Threats are also considered
  bullying behaviors.

Features of Bullying

• It is deliberate, hurtful behavior.
• It is repeated over a period of time.
• It is difficult for those being bullied to defend
  themselves.

To Whom do they Report?

• Any staff member
• Every staff member at Rivera will have a RED
  Bully Buster Folder to track Bullying behavior.

Where are they to report?

• Bully Busters Boxes are located
• Cafeteria
• Second/Fourth grade hall
• First/Third grade hall

First Offense- Classroom

• Discussion with victim
• Discussion with child about behavior
• Identify the anti-social behavior
• Warning of consequences for 2nd/3rd offense
• Bully makes amends
• Contact Parent
• Document incident in Red Folder

Second Offense- Counselor

• Same as first offense with teacher
• Referral to conference with Counselor
• Document in the Red Folder and give a copy to
  administration.

Third Offense- Committee

• Same as with the first offense with teacher
• Level 1 Star Team Referral- Conference with
  parent, teacher, child, and counselor.
• Document in the red folder and give a copy to
  administration.

Fourth Offense- Office

• Same as with first offense with the teacher
• Parent(s)/Guardian(s) notified by administration.
• Possible enrollment in bully busters or
  victims guidance group.
• Two days of in-school suspension or equivalent.

Fifth Offense- Office

• Same as with the first offense with teacher
• Office referral
• Parents notified
• Referral to outside agency
• School suspension or equivalent.

• Take a vacation

• Say How you feel
• Say what you Dont Like.
• Say What you want.
• Say What will happen if you cant work it out.
