Keyboarding
  • Good typing skills are fundamental to productive
    word processing. Once you have mastered those
    skills, typing and data entry will be faster and
    more accurate. It may take months but it is
    worth the time.

  • When typing, you should do the following
  • Back straight, elbows relaxed
  • Keep your eyes fixed on copy
  • Shoulders down
  • Palms hanging over keyboard
  • Relaxed posture

How to Strike the Keys
  • Strike keys exactly in their center.
  • Use a fast, sharp, but light striking movement.
  • Before striking, raise the finger slightly this
    can be followed to some extent by the neighboring
    fingers.

  • Use the right-hand thumb

Good habits and techniques are the foundation for
high speed. Type slowly but steadily, and
concentrate on correct key-striking.
