He drove out the man, and at the east of the
garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a
flaming sword that turned every way to guard the
way to the tree of life. Genesis 324

18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold of
?hammered work shall you make them, on the two
ends of the mercy seat. 19 Make one cherub on the
one end, and one cherub on the other end. ?Of one
piece with the mercy seat shall you make the
cherubim on its two ends. 20 ?The cherubim shall
spread out their wings above, overshadowing the
mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to
another toward the mercy seat shall the faces of
the cherubim be. Exodus 2518-20

Daniels Reaction (Dan. 105-8) 5 ?I lifted up my
eyes and looked, and behold, ?a man clothed in
linen, ?with a belt of fine ?gold from Uphaz
around his waist. 6 His body was like ?beryl, his
face ?like the appearance of lightning, ?his eyes
like flaming torches, his arms and ?legs like the
gleam of burnished bronze, and ?the sound of his
words like the sound of a multitude. 7 ?And I,
Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who
were with me did not see the vision, but a great
trembling fell upon them, and they fled to hide
themselves. 8 So I was left alone and saw this
great vision, and ?no strength was left in me. My
radiant appearance was fearfully changed, ?and I
retained no strength.
7
Zachariahs Reaction (Lk. 111-13) 11 And there
appeared to him an angel of the Lord standing on
the right side of ?the altar of incense. 12 And
Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and ?fear
fell upon him. 13 But the angel said to him, Do
not be afraid, Zechariah, for ?your prayer has
been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you
a son, and ?you shall call his name John.
8
Marys Reaction (Lk. 130) 30 And the angel said
to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for ?you have
found favor with God.

Guards and Women at Jesus Tomb (Matt. 281-5) 1
?Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the
first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and ?the
other Mary went to see the tomb. 2 And behold,
there was a great earthquake, for ?an angel of
the Lord descended from heaven and came and
rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 ?His
appearance was like lightning, and ?his clothing
white as snow. 4 And for fear of him the guards
trembled and ?became like dead men. 5 But the
angel said to the women, Do not be afraid, for I
know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
10
Johns Reaction (Rev. 228-9) 8 I, ?John, am the
one who heard and saw these things. And when I
heard and saw them, ?I fell down to worship at
the feet of the angel who showed them to me, 9
?but he said to me, You must not do that! I am a
fellow servant? with you and your brothers the
prophets, and with those ?who keep the words of
this book. Worship God.
