What is Slander
  • Slander (Ninda) is an act to discredit or defame
    someone or something.
  • Can be malicious rumours or a truth.
  • Speaking slander and listening to slander is
    prohibited.
  • By doing so you are doing apmaan (insult) which
    is sinful as well as unacceptable.

  • Sumant Smruti says, Those who slander should
    have their tongues burned and should be severely
    punished
