Making It Meaningful
  • Students are given an explanation of what their
    scores mean
  • What is a passing score?
  • What is a Developmental Scale Score?

  • How can I improve my scores for next year?

Commitment Communication
  • Students are asked to write a statement detailing
    their commitment to raise the level of their
    performance.
  • Students are required to bring the report back to
    their teacher signed by a parent.

Kicking It Up A Notch
  • Administrators will counsel students that
    committed to attending F.A.S.T. but are not
    attending.
  • 9th 10th grade classroom visits
  • Fresh review of FCAT skills in late February
  • ESOL contacts made by Spanish speaker

How It All Fits Together

    instructional needs and teach prescriptively.
  • Guidance counselors provide extra support and
    parent contact for academically needy students.

    motivation.

    an individual at BHS.

One Last Component
  • Professional Development is aimed to meet each of
    the administrative and instructional goals for
    BHS 2003-2004. Goals are based on data (EQuIP,
    Climate Survey, and SIP).
  • Each activity is designed to give teachers and
    other staff members a skill that will impact
    student achievement.
  • TPAS objectives are aligned with School
    Improvement Plan.
