2- MISSION OF THE UNIVERSITY

- The mission of Texas AM-Kingsville is to
develop well-rounded leaders and critical
thinkers who can solve problems in an
increasingly complex, dynamic and global society.
Located in South Texas, the university is a
teaching, research and service institution that
provides access to higher education in an
ethnically and culturally diverse region of the
nation. Texas AM-Kingsville offers an extensive
array of baccalaureate and masters degree
programs and selected doctoral and professional
degrees in an academically challenging,
learner-centered and caring environment where all
employees contribute to student success.

- The Office of the Provost and the Division of
Academic Affairs provide leadership in developing
and maintaining quality academic programs and
support services that contribute to achievement
of the University mission.

Ed, PhD Wildlife Sciences) - BS in Architectural Engineering approved by BOR
and THECB - PharmD approved by BOR and submitted to THECB
- SACS off- and on-site reviews successfully
completed - CSDO, Social Work and Dietetics programs
re-accredited - Competitive salaries offered to new faculty
- Mid-year raise (average 5)
- Implementation of SCT Banner continued
- Renovation of Kleberg Building began
- Enrollment at TAMU-K System Center reached 977
(fall) - Undergraduate and graduate program reviews
completed - Continued phase-out of Industrial and Nat Gas

research funded 50 graduate scholarships - Hired an additional staff member in ORSP
- Awarded internal grants totaling 100,000 to 10
faculty - Published the universitys first research
magazine, Discovery - Generated 13.2M in external funding compared to
