- Montgomery County Family YMCAs Story
- The Montgomery County Family YMCA opened up as a
store front YMCA, non facility, in rural Iowa
community size 6,600 population and service area
of 13,000 residents. - 1995- 1999
- Operational budget 100,000 running store front
off site programming. Creating an awareness in
our community. Positioned the YMCA to run a 6.6
million dollar campaign which included 500,000
endowment program. - Campaign was successful from 1997-1999 and new
full facility YMCA or 68,000 square feet was
opened in October 2000 with indoor tennis center
added in December 2001. - In December 2000 YMCA endowment balance was
brought up to 1 million dollars with another
500,000 endowment gift. - Today current funds are slightly over 1 million
dollars these funds generate just under 60,000
or revenue for our 550,000 general operational
budget. - The YMCA does have a city/county program in place
for income to assist with the YMCA operations or
long term maintenance expenses.

year terms. Quarterly meetings.

individuals, brochures, web site information,
media information throughout the year. - Communicate YMCA membership, general public and
to endowment donors at the Montgomery County
Family YMCA we call our donors members of the
Heritage Club

- Banner - display banner with all club members
names - Plaques

- Dinner a dinner for all club members to
celebrate program / dinner for all YMCA members
as well to plant seeds to other members that
they can easily qualify to become an endowment
heritage club member.

- The Montgomery County Family YMCA is now looking
at long term maintenance items of an 8 year old
well kept facility. - Starting in the Fall 2008 we have worked with our
top benefactor to reach a campaign goal of 1.5
million - Our top benefactor will donate up to 500,000
to the YMCAs endowment program with emphasis on
long term maintenance. They will donate 50 of
incoming gift up to 500,000. - As of Spring 2009 we have raised over 300,000.

- The endowment program is our life line to the
success of our YMCA both operational wise and now
long term maintenance wise to ensure that the
Montgomery County Family YMCA will continue to
serve generations to come. It is a very
rewarding program to have the honor and privilege
to share your YMCAs vision, heritage and story
to ones community / area.
