Checking Grades On-Line
  • French grades and classroom attendance are

Click on the parent tab then select Gradebook
Portal. If you have not already done so, you
will need to set up a new account. There is a
tutorial available. You will need to enter your
e-mail address and your childs student
    identification number.
  • It is the students responsibility to check
his/her grade on a frequent basis.
  • Grades entered as Ab or Mi are figured in as
a 0 until the work has been made up. However,
grades entered as a 0 represent work that was
not completed on time, and students will not be
allowed to make up this work.

6
Quizzes, Tests, Projects, Current Events
  • Each quiz, test, project or current event is
assigned a point value depending on its
    requirements.
  • When a project is assigned students will be given
a rubric so they know its point value before they
    begin working on it.

7
Quizzes, Tests, Projects, Current Events cont.
  • Current events are presented to the class on
    Tuesdays.
  • Each student will be assigned dates to present
current events at the beginning of the semester.
  • The computer keeps a running score of the number
of points earned over the possible number of
points in this category. (Students can count on
at least two scores in this category per week. )

8
LAPSE grade
  • The LAPSE grade is a self-evaluated, teacher
checked grade that takes in account how well you
do in the following categories on a daily basis.
    LAPSE stands for

  • Participate
  • Stay on Task
  • Encourage classmates to do the same

  • If a student copies the homework from another
French student, they will both receive a zero for
    the assignment.

10
Homework Quizzes
  • For some assignments, there will be mandatory
homework quizzes. Students may use their homework
    to complete the quizzes.

11
Homework Quizzes cont.
  • Students may also have the option of choosing to
take a homework quiz instead of doing the
assigned homework, if they feel they have already
    mastered the content.
  • Students will lose this privilege after doing
    poorly on 3 homework quizzes.

12
Notebook
  • Every student will need a 3-ring binder that they
will use as a notebook. There is a posted list
of what needs to go in your notebook in the
    classroom.
  • The notebook will be checked 4 times a semester.
  • Notebook checks are announced ahead of time.

13
Extra Credit
  • Extra Credit is assigned only for academic
    reasons.
