The Agricultural Revolution

• Robert Bakewell was a figure who made an
  important contribution to better farming methods.
  Bakewell did not invent the idea of selective
  breeding but he was the first to make a
  commercial success of it. Bakewell allowed only
  the strongest or heaviest animals to breed with
  each other. His new Leicester sheep produced
  especially high levels of meat - although it was
  also very fatty.
