Sheep

• In the springtime the sheep are ready for
  shearing.

Shearing

• The wool is sheared (cut off) from the sheep
  in one piece called a fleece.

Washing

• The fleece is scoured (washed) and sorted.

Carding

• The clean dry wool is then carded (combed to
  straighten the fibers).

Spinning

• The wool is spun into yarn.

Knitting

• The yarn can be knit,

• or woven into cloth

• and made into clothing and other wool items.
