  • Throughout 3 years of data, we found that every
    year clients improved on more subscales
  • 2005 showed dramatic improvements in all 18
    subscales
  • The greatest improvements were shown in these
    sub-scales
  • Conduct (CDp) had an average score of 76.8 at
    intake, and a average score of 49.9 at discharge
    an improvement of 26.9
  • School (SchoolP) had an average score of 75.3 at
    intake and a average score of 53.8 at discharge,
    an improvement of 21.5

Information Gathered
  • Staff utilized behaviour rating scales from the
    Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment
    (ASEBA)
  • This information was obtained from multiple
    sources about a childs functioning at the time
    of initial treatment planning and at regular
    intervals during the course of treatment

  • For the present analysis, data from 26 children
    were used.
  • 22 boys and 4 girl with an average age of 8.5
  • Ratings were obtained from parent, teacher and
    staff after behavioural observation
  • Three sets of behavioral ratings are seen on chart

  • The AESBA Direct observation score provides
    information on the presence or absence of
    clinically significant behavioural problems
  • Specifically it produces 3 scores
  • Internalizing behaviour Externalizing behaviour
    and Total behavioural problems
  • It also provides a non normative score regarding
    the extent to which a child was seen to engage
    in on-task behaviours

Outcomes
  • Children that are referred to SBCIP present with
    some significant mental health problems and
    showed improvement on on task behavior, on
    average from 63 of the time to 85 of the time
    by third observation

  • Over the course of three administrations the
    number of children who received clinically
    significant scores in any areas rated, generally
    decreased.
  • Which suggests that the treatment plan is proving
    successful in improving childrens functioning

  • Research was gathered for 310 children for the
    EIP evaluation
  • 154 males/156 Females
  • Age range of 4 to 14 years
  • 120 children from the public school board, 190
    from the catholic school board
  • 160 children from the county/150 children from
    the city

  • Teacher ratings in overall pro-sociality at both
    pre and post program
  • Glengarda staff ratings of the degree to skill
    scenarios
  • Teacher and school administrator survey on the
    effectiveness of the program, and the extent to
    which it is still being used
  • Parent satisfaction survey

    teachers indicate that they are still trying to
    use the program in their class
  • In general, the findings indicate that EIP is
    effective in improving the social skill
    development in children
  • Results demonstrate that children participating
    in the program show significant improvements in
    pro-social behaviour

Executive Summary of Findings
  • Overall, all sources of quantitative and
    qualitative data from clients, consumers and
    partner agency/professionals indicate that
    Glengarda is known and respected in the community
    and is perceived as appropriate and generally
    effective services in all areas.
