• A plan for teaching and learning
• Consists of linked learning activities designed
  to meet learning objectives

• A web site, or interlinked set of web pages
• Designed to support teaching and learning
  envisioned in a curriculum

Components of a Curriculum Web

• A curriculum plan that defines the purposes and
  learning activities of the curriculum
• A front or home page the main entry point
• Student activity pages that describe specific
  activities for students and lead them to
  appropriate resources and provide a structure for
  their learning
• A teaching guide that contains information useful
  to the teacher
• Online rubrics and self-assessments so that
  students can test their knowledge or
  understanding
• Feedback mechanisms so that students can
  communicate with the teacher
• Links to relevant external web sites that have
  been carefully selected to support learning

• The curriculum plan
• Serves as a blueprint for the curriculum and the
  curriculum web
• Written during, and as part of, the curriculum
  development process
• The written plan becomes the online teaching
  guide in the curriculum web

  questions
• What educational purposes should your curriculum
  seek to attain?
• How can learning activities be selected that are
  likely to be useful in attaining these
  objectives?
• How can learning activities be organized for
  effective instruction
• How can the learning that results be assessed?

• Need to keep these questions in mind throughout
  the planning process and while designing the web
  site to support the curriculum plans
• Not a linear process
• Iterative later aspects of the process often
  result in adjustments to decisions made earlier
