Problem with Glue System
- Used Araldit AW 106/AW116 with Hardener
HV953U - Observed a very sticky surface after
hardening - Manufacturer declared that they have
Problems producing this Hardener since 2004

Problem with Glue System
- We decide to stop the Production because the
manufacturer cannot guarantee the mechanical
and electrical Properties of this Charge -
Get a Charge of an modifcated Hardener to test
the mech. and electr. Properties - After
checking the Properties, we declared this glue
is ok for our use ( 500 G 3.8T Ohm cm)

Problem with Glue System
- We cannot checked the outgasing of the cured
Glue, concerning of Ageing Phenomena in the
TRD Chamber (Last Ageing test in 1993 of
this glue) - Conclusion, we orderd for all
production Sites enough Hardener to finished
the TRD Production

- What is to do for Future Quality Control -
Make Incoming goods inspection of every
delievered Glue Charge, checked mech./electr.
Properties - Additional Ageing Test - Create
a glue, depends on the Project Specifications
- Test Standards (Create Own Standards or DIN
-Norm Standards)

Statement
Based on this experience, Issues of the Design,
mass Production, Quality Control, system assembly
and testing of this large and complicated
detector system are very important to guarantee a
good quality of the whole system.
