Kingdom Protista
  • Protists are single-celled, eukaryotic organisms.
  • They may be solitary or colonial
  • Not all scientists agree on how to classify
    protists.
  • Some are similar to animals and some others are
    similar to plants.

Evolution of Protists
  • It is believed that protists evolved from a
    symbiotic relationship between prokaryotic cells.
  • This theory is called the Endosymbiont
    Hypoythesis.

Anamallike Protists
  • There are some protists that behave similar to
    animals.
  • There are four phyla that are anamillike. They
    are Ciliophora, Zoomastigina, Sporozoa, and
    Sarcodina.
  • The main characteristic that differs among these
    phyla is their method of travel.
