Factor Pairs
  • Factors of a number come in pairs. These factor
    pairs can be represented using rectangular arrays.

Practice!
  • Choose a number between 10 and 30. Draw all the
    rectangular arrays for that number.
  • Numbers that can make a square are called square
    numbers. (1 1 x 1 4 2 x 2 9 3 x 3)
    They also have an odd number of factors because
    one factor is repeated among the pairs.

  • Common Factors -- a factor that two or more
    number share
