Benefits Of 3G
  • Segmented Product Offerings for High End
Consumers, matching their paying capacity, with
    focus on Delightful user Experiece.
  • Freeing up of Existing Spectrum for basic Voice
Services, in currently high Density areas such as
Metros. This will remove Spectral Constraints
towards achieving 250 Million subscribers by
    2007, the bigger dream.
  • Creating Mobility Driven Enterprise Solutions,
which will help the Mobile Work Force far greater
Speeds of Access, manifold the conventional
56 Kbps dial up speeds, improving their
    Efficiency Productivity.
  • Bridging the Digital Divide between Urban
Rural India, by providing fast deployment of Last
Mile Wireless Connectivity, for easy Broad Band
Access. This can help the Social Objectives by
providing Broad Band Access to Villages for
    Community Programs Rural Management.
  • Usher in the Era of e-Governance at District
    Levels.

Spectrum Allocation the key to Success
  • Spectrum is a Key but currently Scarce Resource,
    to achieve growth.
  • India must adopt Global Best Practices in
    Spectrum Allocation methodology
  • Policy should address the Geographical
Demographic Diversity of India the resulting
    Divergent Needs for Telecom Services.
  • Overriding Goal in framing Policies should be to
    foster Competition stimulate Innovation.
  • Move away from piecemeal allocation to full
allocation of agreed Spectrum, in one go, to
Service Providers. This will enable better
    Network Planning Deployment.
  • Follow a Technology Neutral Allocation
    Methodology. Efficiency Innovation should not
    be penalized.
  • Additional Spectrum for 3G deployment in Globally
Harmonized Frequency Bands, so that we can get
rapid deployment of 3G Services, with no
    equipment availability constraints derive
    economies of Scale.
