Key technological areas

• The focus of the project was on the
  identification of energy efficiency possibilities
  in three key technological areas
• Municipal buildings,
• Public lighting,
• District heating.

Objectives

• Phase 1. Liaison with local authorities and
  implementation of the training needs studies
• Phase 2. Development of the training material and
  the courses
• Phase 3. Development of a Web-site and of the
  Monitoring and Assessment Tool of Energy
  Consumption
• Phase 4. Pilot testing and application of the
  Energy Efficiency in municipalities courses
• Phase 5. Dissemination in target groups

Training needs studies

• We have addressed more than 60 municipal and
  regional energy managers, feedback from 12 people
• We have focused on towns from 3 000 to 170 000
  inhabitants and regions
• Feedback from 10 towns and 2 regions
• Training need study with detailed analysis of the
  questionnaires

Educational material

• Three guides were prepared
• Energy Efficiency in Municipalities
• DSM applying in Municipalities
• IRP applying in Municipalites
• The guides were translated to Czech and are
  available at www.cityplan.cz Stredisko
  energetiky a ivotního prostredí Ke staení

Website

• Website for the networking of municipality energy
  managers in participating countries and the
  presentation of the project results, which will
  also involve energy experts from the national,
  regional and local energy agencies participating
  in the project in order to provide all requested
  backup.

MATENUM

• A software tool for Monitoring Assessment of
  Energy Uses in Municipalities (MATENUM), which
  will be available to the network members through
  the ENEFMUN web site.

Training courses on Energy Efficiency

• Divided in two one day sessions one for
  technical training and the other one for
  introducing the principles of financial
  engineering and business planning
• In CR more focused of crisis DSM and aspects of
  IRP
• The role of energy efficiency in crisis
  preparedness

Participants

• About 15 people participated the courses held in
  Prague
• Mainly people responsible for energy and crisis
  management

Bussiness plans

• Two completed business plans for implementation
  or energy efficiency measures, which will be the
  later by Mr. Bene
